We warmly welcome anyone interested in exploring the psychological aspects of the climate and ecological emergency to join us.

What does membership mean?

The Climate Psychology Alliance is a Community Benefit Society, so by signing up as a member you automatically become a co-owner of the organisation. Participation is key so we welcome active involvement and would love to hear what you would like to contribute - which can be as much or as little as you want.

Individual membership of £84.00 a year (pay forward rate*), £54.00 a year (standard rate), or £9.60 a year (reduced rate**) offers:

  • immediate access to our online community platform where you can browse groups, topics and events, connect with other members, explore what you might like to bring to CPA, and share your climate psychology journey;
  • access to regular members-only events, including a monthly Zoom meeting for new members the monthly Thinking Space meetings where members share emerging ideas and research with each other; and peer supervision meetings for those offering climate-aware therapeutic support and climate cafe listening circles;
  • an open invitation to join groups; for example we have a group of young members and a group focusing on work with young people; there is one for people who facilitate CPA’s climate cafe listening circles; one working on decolonising and antiracism; and one for people involved in producing CPA’s journal Explorations. You can also start your own group if you can’t find one that suits your interests or if you want to meet others who live near you or share aspects of your identity;
  • a monthly email update of CPA news and links to events relevant to climate psychology;
  • the right to take part in governance such as attending the monthly Board meetings and the weekly coordinating group meetings; and the right to vote at our AGM and stand for our Board.

*The pay forward rate (at £7 per month) is intended for those who feel able to help us support our offerings of climate cafe listening circles, training, peer supervision, and therapeutic support for those affected by the climate crisis. Given the numerous challenges that climate change brings to us all, we try to serve as many people as possible. We have limited funds and we make no profit or surplus, so with just a little extra support from you we can reach and help more people. We know that some potential members simply have no funds to spare so we don't expect it, but if you can afford to pay more, that's very much appreciated.

**Our reduced rate is for those on low incomes; students or young people between 16 and 25; those who are joining in order to offer three free sessions (climatepsychologyalliance.org) of Therapeutic Support to people struggling with their feelings about the climate crisis.

We encourage you to have a look at Our Values before signing up.

Please note that membership is automatically renewed. However, you can cancel your membership at any time. If you would like us to do this for you, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
